As I taste It ! (restaurant reviews)
I have reviewed a few really good pizzerias and unfortunately a lot of BAD ones!
Jackson's Bar and Oven is really a great restaurant that just so happens to serve a great wood fired Pizza, My girlfriend and I went there to check it out, we sat at the pizza bar and ordered a couple of drinks, the place was busy and we were sitting right across from the kitchen which is open and its really nice to see what is going on, I asked the Chef De Cuisine Jason Denton if I could have a dough ball! he looked at me a little funny then said sure, I checked out the webbing the feel the smell and it was definitely a great dough, quality ingredients and prepared the right way the Naples Italy way.
My girlfriend ordered the house made Italian Sausage Pizza 15- and I ordered the Specialty Pizza with Prosciutto and shaved Fennel 15- and we both shared a Caesar Salad (classic) 8- oh ya can't forget about the drinks they were great to but the food was fantastic!
The Sausage Pizza was baked to perfection, the sauce was light and full of flavor and the toppings were balanced well so that all the fresh ingredients could be tasted!
Classic Caesar salad, crisp fresh Romain lettuce house baked croutons and the dressing was light and flavorful.
My pizza? it was great also, the crust was fired perfectly, a nice char not overbaked and the Prosciutto and Fennel were a perfect match, when you read the menu you actually GET what you have read? that make sense, and hey I don't know these guys but in the Pizza world they "Respect the Craft" the food at Jacksons is GREAT!
Listen! go to Jacksons, the staff are all very nice, the place has a great energy about it, not too loud but not too quiet either, great food and great drinks!
Hey Jason, thought you would get away without any criticism? not a chance but hey its not bad at all, here ya go, as we were sitting watching our salad be prepared the young lady that was prepping it had a bunch of jewelry on, and as a chef that was not nice to see, also the pizza maker at the oven took a couple of pizzas and set them on the fire to burn!!!!!! not good to do! don't burn the pizzas on the fire TOSS THEM OUT!
You should be commended, I will be back and I will definitely tell everyone I know about Jacksons Bar and Oven, a combination of great staff great food and great energy, Bravo! cheers to Nick and Evan, great job gentlemen
